In a busy month of repertory, the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia houses E.L. Davenport and his wife, Fanny Vining, who perform a rotating double bill of shows, including Hamlet and Macbeth, for two weeks. The following week, eminent Shakespeare tragedian James E. Murdoch arrives to play Othello, Richard III, Hamlet and Philip Massinger's A New Way to Pay Old Debts.
