In November 2003, 120 female playwrights came together from 30 countries to attend the sixth Women Playwrights International Conference in Manila. Tuan was part of the American delegation, along with Ellen Stewart of New York City's La MaMa ETC and novelist/playwright Jessica Hagedorn, among others.
