Heather Kitchen, managing director of American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco, is taking on a new title: executive director. The change "more accurately reflects the scope of her work," asserts ACT artistic director Carey Perloff, pointing out that Kitchen has assumed a more influential role in the theatre's external affairs. An eight-year veteran of ACT, Kitchen is a former production manager for Theatre New Brunswick and a current member of the executive board of the League of Resident Theatres.
