Thank you for publishing Tom Tresser's timely and insightful commentary calling for theatre artists to step into the political arena ("Run, Baby, Run!", Sept. '04). At the urging of the little voices in my head, as well as my colleagues, friends, peers and county party officials, I am the Democratic candidate in Nevada State Senate District 3.

The incumbent has been in the seat since 1972 (when I was two years old) and is expected to serve again. But I see the campaign as a continuum of the work I have done as an artist-activist for more than 15 years. This election cycle ...
