American Theatre, March, 2005

Upon reaching the Almanac section of the January issue of American Theatre, I was startled to see my own face smiling back at me. I was doubly startled to see the caption underneath which read, "Lorraine Hansberry, in an undated photograph." Hansberry died in 1965 and the photo is circa that period--but the subject is still very much alive and well, and working.

I hope you can find a photo of Miss Hansberry, as your readers deserve to see a true likeness of the groundbreaking playwright. You may return mine to your files, dated circa mid- or late-'60s, and use it at a more appropriate time. I won't suggest what time that might be.
