Thank you for the January issue on actor-training! What a happy amalgam of so many ideas and a vast compendium of constructs. This issue represents some kind of creative apogee for (what amounts to) the only oracle/forum for the American theatre in our country! I was especially awed by Zelda Fichander's inspiring discursion ("The Lying Game") based on her "scar tissue" as a creator of "structures." She aligned nearly an entire generation of us who have been in the business of tooling our classes to the reality of such an evanescent profession.

I was disappointed, though, by Douglas Turner Ward's blanket castigation of black actors for not touching base with their own cultural history before enacting "universal (white)...
