In Theresa Rebeck's commentary, one can sense and hear a frustrated playwright's voice. I am truly sorry for Rebeck and Sheri Wilner and Ronan Noone and Suzanne Bradbeer and for so many other playwrights who can't seem to be able to get a theatre--any theatre--to commit to doing a second production of one of their plays.

Have their agents please get in touch with us ASAP! At New Theatre, which I founded and have led for the past 19 seasons, a reluctance to do a second production has never been the problem. We have done more than 40 world premieres over the past several years and have averaged two every season.
