> BIRMINGHAM, U.K.: In Britain this past January, the playwright who was forced to go into hiding due to violent protests and death threats issued a public statement in defense of her controversial play Behzti. Writing in The Guardian, Gurpreet Kaur Bhatti--herself Sikh--says that her play was "taken out of context" and that it was not intended "to offend."
