Jerry Patch will step into the newly created position of resident artistic director at the Old Globe in June, announced artistic director Jack O'Brien and executive director Louis G. Spisto. O'Brien extended his contract with the San Diego, Calif., theatre through the 2007-08 season. The new triumvirate leadership structure will allow O'Brien to continue to bring major projects to the Old Globe and direct elsewhere, while Patch focuses on new work and the day-to-day artistic process of the theatre.
