When a colleague told actor Trey Lyford that he resembled Stan Laurel, the lithe member of the New York City-based Civilians decided to do something about it. Researching depression-era comedy eventually led the actor to enlist Geoff Sobelle (of Philadelphia's Pig Iron Theatre Company), with whom he dreamed up All Wear Bowlers, a playful hybrid of physical theatre, slapstick comedy and philosophical meditation that takes its cues from the art of Laurel and Hardy, Charlie Chaplin and Buster Keaton.
