Chicago's Jeff Awards for Equity productions favored Congo Square Theatre Company's Seven Guitars and Marriott Theatre's Beauty and the Beast as best play and musical, respectively. Guitars also garnered acclaim for its ensemble and director Derrick Sanders, while Beauty won for director-of-a-musical Marc Robin and costume designer Nancy Missimi.
