NEW YORK CITY: On Jan. 7 and 8, the Actors Center is holding a congress of 50 actors and 50 acting teachers at the New York Performing Arts Library at Lincoln Center. The subject, "The Role of the Actor in American Culture," will encompass a slew of issues: reasons for becoming an actor, how to build a career, the nature of cultural expectations, the pressure of achieving commercial success.
