WATERFORD, CT.: One of the eight possible slots at this summer's National Playwrights Conference has already been taken. Emerging playwright Darren Canady's False Creeds--the winner of Alliance Theatre's third annual Kendeda Graduate Playwriting Competition, about a young black man discovering the truth about his ancestors' link to the 1921 Tulsa, Oklahoma riots--is going to be workshopped at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center in Waterford, Conn., before it premieres next season at the Alliance in Atlanta.
