ASHEVILLE, N.C.: By all means, bring your Birkenstocks. The bohemian getaway of Asheville, N.C., welcomes outdoorsy types, hikers, even yoga nuts. But the city is also in the process of reinventing itself as the next theatre-destination hotspot in the South. About 20 North Carolina theatre companies are gathering forces, many for the second time, for a new season of Stoneleaf: A Festival of North Carolina Theatre, May 26-June 24.
