WASHINGTON, D.C.: News flash: Power-hungry despots and cunning sycophants are invading the nation's capital! So are doomed young lovers and plucky cross-dressing lasses. Thanks to Michael M. Kaiser, president of the Kennedy Center, and Michael Kahn, artistic director of Shakespeare Theatre Company, from now till June the Shakespeare in Washington festival will bring more than 60 arts organizations to D.C. from around the world to perform the Bard's plays, as well as dance, music, film and visual art pieces inspired by his genius.
