CHICAGO: Second Sex Series
"Woman's situation inclines her to seek salvation in literature and art," wrote Simone de Beauvoir in the book that inspired this series at Bailiwick Repertory Theatre, programmed to give prominence to women's voices and issues. It kicks off Jan. 3-7 with The Dreams of Laura Bush/The Passion of Terri Schiavo, performance artist Karen Finley's double bill of politically pertinent solo works embellished by her live-action ink drawings.
