Erik Weiner describes Nerds://A Musical Software Satire (co-authored by Jordan Allen-Dutton) as "an over-the-top comedic epic, a Star Wars-inspired dark-side-of-the-force-Rebel-Alliance-saga about Steve Jobs and Bill Gates." Another way to say it is that Nerds--here he drops his voice into a mock serious register--"is a satiric musical comedy about the history of computers." The play premieres at Philadelphia Theatre Company through Feb. 25 as part of the city's first New Play Festival [see News in Brief, page 16].
