NEW YORK CITY: The American Songbook series at Lincoln Center continues to fixate reverently on songcraft, and on the magnetic people who do the music justice, with a wide-ranging interest in the classics (Betty Buckley takes the stage for two shows on Feb. 10; Ute Lemper does her thing on Feb. 21), the up-and-coming (Jason Robert Brown performs selections from his old and new musical theatre compositions on Feb. 9) and the indie (experimental southwestern band Calexico and alt-country chanteuse Neko Case on Feb. 8 and 23, respectively).
