Outlook calls for cold spring in Northeast.

WSI Corporation has issued its seasonal outlook for the upcoming three-month period (March-May). WSI expects this period to average cooler-than-normal generally north of a boundary that extends from Spokane, Wash., to Dallas to Washington, D.C. Warmer-than-normal temperatures are expected elsewhere. This pattern will be especially prevalent in April and May, after a March where warm temperatures will be widespread in many U.S. locations. The WSI seasonal outlooks reference a standard 30-year normal (1971-2000).

The April-May breakdown follows:

In April:

Northeast: Warmer than normal, with the exception of Maine.

Southeast: Cooler than normal, especially Miss., Ala.

North Central: Cooler than normal, especially N.D., S.D....
