Try These Tips and Tricks for Large-Format Printing
The increasing sophistication of GIS software and the advent of reasonably priced large-format printers has created a problem for geotechnical users: it's become complicated. The ability to simply "click the print button" and easily create flawless maps now is the large-format printer's "Holy Grail." But GIS users must realize that printing requires as much attention to detail as the rest of the process.
For most users, print quality is the most problematic issue. There are two major print-quality issues: 1) the printed map doesn't look like what's displayed on the monitor, and 2) the printed map is of poor quality {e.g., fuzzy, muddy, jagged, banded, etc.).
