FEMA taps Michael Baker for Map Modernization.(Government Connection)

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) selected Michael Baker Jr. Inc. to serve as the program manager to develop, plan, manage, execute and monitor the Multi-Hazard Flood Map Modernization Program for flood-hazard mitigation across the United States. The maximum contract value is $750 million over five years.

Upon successfully completing negotiations for the FEMA project, Baker's "Mapping on Demand" team will help the agency work with state, local and other federal partners to develop digital flood-hazard data. The contract will be performance-based, aligning the program's success with strategic and program objectives of FEMA, an agency of the Department of Homeland Security.
