USGS Program Office issues activity update.(United States. Geological Survey's National Geospatial Program Office )

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) National Geospatial Program Office (NGPO) released an update on recent activities as it continues to work on projects such as The National Map and the Geospatial One-Stop (GOS).

The office was formed in January 2005 as a result of the USGS Geography discipline reorganization to provide leadership and coordination for federal mapping and geospatial activities.

In addition to The National Map and GOS, the NGPO encompasses USGS project areas such as the Federal Geographic Data Committee, the USGS Geospatial Liaison network, The National Atlas and emergency-operations support.
