Rain Bird's Ed Shoemaker wins ASIC'S Williams Award.

Ed Shoemaker was presented the prestigious Roy Williams Memorial Award during the Annual Conference of the American Society of Irrigation Consultants in Victoria, British Columbia. This award recognizes significant contributions to the irrigation industry.
Shoemaker graduated from the University of Missouri in 1951. He started in the industry selling agricultural irrigation in the Midwest for Olin Matheson, then joined L.R. Nelson Mfg. Co. (Rainy Sprinkler Sales) in Peoria, Ill., in 1957 to sell Rain Bird sprinklers in the eastern U.S. He was appointed sales manager of that company in 1965. In 1968 Rainy Sprinkler Sales was purchased by Rain Bird, and in 1969 Ed moved to California to become national sales manager for the Turf, Golf and Ag Products Division....
