Do I quit my day job? (Viewpoint).

Here in the Greater Cleveland area, there must be at least 30,000 lawn and landscape contractors -- maybe even a gazillion. But know what? I've never been able to find anything to distinguish one from the other except the color of the trucks and the color of the mowing equipment.

This perplexes me. And the more I get perplexed, the more I ponder. Eventually, I start thinking: "If I were a landscaper, I'd go after a niche market. It'd be a market in which I could distinguish myself, one that nobody's touching yet, and one that could make me some real dough."

Over the past few weeks, I've thunk it all out, too. I'd buy myself a reel mower (or two) and find the ritziest, most expensive neighborhoods in the area -- the ones with the biggest, gaudiest...
