Spring fertilization is absolutely essential for developing grass and trees that will remain strong and healthy through the hottest months of the year.

Synthetic fertilizers are formulated specifically to maximize turf or tree health, while natural fertilizers are a viable, eco-friendly option. Certainly, trees need supplemental nourishment, but grass is a bigger concern in tire green industry.

"It seems some turf managers are now reluctant to fertilize in the spring," notes Dr. Tony Koski of Colorado State University, "because they have been preached to about the terrible havoc that springtime nitrogen applications wreak on turfgrass roots, stress tolerance, and disease resistance.
