Brunel University's body support concept.(Design and research and development services)

Medical Device Technology, January, 2006

Brunel University's School of Engineering & Design, with The Wolfson Centre for Materials Processing, will be introducing its FlexNLok concept at MDT 2006. This articulated sheet structure is easily switched from flexible to robust rigid state. When in its flexible state it can be conformed to complex shapes and directly moulded onto the human body making it suitable for body support systems such as spinal bracing, limb splinting and custom seating.
