Modern Applications News, Jan, 2006
New from M.A. Ford, (Davenport, IA) is the TuffCut[R] XR, 4-flute Ball Nose solid carbide high-performance endmill for heavy rough milling applications, as well as for finishing cuts in virtually all materials. Extensive field-testing has proven these tools consistently outlast the competition as much as 2:1 in feed rate and tool life. The styles include stub and standard flute lengths in sizes ranging from 1/8" - 1" and 3mm - 12mm. Their unique flute geometry design allows for increased feeds and speeds while reducing harmonics. For strong cutting edges an eccentric primary relief has been utilized. Designed for extended tool life, the TuffCut[R] XR is coated with ALtima[R],
M. A. Ford's exclusive AITiN coating.
