The SINUMERIK 802D solution line CNC for job shops combines network-centric architecture and drive technology. It is an operator panel-based control system that combines the numerical control, the programmable logic controller, and the human machine interface into a single unit. It has the capability of five-axis machining--two of which may be spindles--and is designed for the low- and medium-range milling and turning machine markets. The drives communications system--Drive CLiQ--provides diagnostics and drive recognition via the electronic-type plate. It is compatible with the existing SINUMERIK CNC family.
