PPC chairman identifies growth markets.

In North America, medical and pharmaceutical products are the highest compound growth market for folding cartons, and the recent FDA-mandated Drug Facts labeling could boost opportunities for carton manufacturers, says Newth Morris, current Paperboard Packaging Council (PPC) chairman. Morris, who also is president of Dixie Printing and Packaging Corp., spoke late last month at the European Carton Manufacturers Association (ECMA) Congress in Mallorca, Spain.

At the conference, he gave an overview of the North American folding carton market, including key markets, current industry issues and cooperative efforts between the PPC and ECMA.
