Official Board Markets, February, 2003
Weyerhaeuser Co. is cutting 27 engineering jobs at its corporate offices in Ruston, La., although some employees will have an option to relocate as work is transferred to offices in Federal Way, Wash., or Fort Mill, S.C., reports Forestweb. The move affects 13 Weyerhaeuser positions and 14 contractors, a spokesman noted.
Most of the Weyerhaeuser employees will have the option of moving. The latest cuts bring to 130 the number of layoffs at Ruston since Weyerhaeuser acquired Willamette Industries a year ago. It was formerly Willamette's Southern Regional headquarters. The Ruston office is reduced to 35 workers.
