Graphic Packaging Corp., Marietta, Ga., reports net income for its second quarter of 2004 of $.2 million, compared with a second quarter 2003 net loss of $6.4 million. In August 2003, Graphic Packaging International Corp. and Riverwood Holding, Inc. merged in a stock-for-stock transaction; Riverwood Holding, Inc. was renamed Graphic Packaging Corp. This merger has been accounted for as a purchase transaction. This year's results are those of the merged company, while 2003 comparisons are those of Riverwood Holding, Inc.

During second quarter 2004 the company reduced total debt by $71.2 million through improved operating cash flow and $9.2 million of net proceeds from the sale of its Garden Grove, Calif., plant. The company expects to achieve a full year...
