DuPont Packaging & Industrial Polymers (P&IP) and its Security & Solutions business purchases an equity stake and forges a marketing agreement with identif GmbH of Erlangen, Germany, a packaging solutions company, to help position itself as a worldwide leader in providing security-related products to fight counterfeiting.

Terms weren't disclosed. To combat counterfeiting and tampering, DuPont P&IP's goals are to help prevent the introduction of counterfeit products, minimize the risk and exposure of consumers to counterfeit products, help customers regain lost revenue from counterfeits, protect customers' brand integrity, and avoid unnecessary costs. DuPont P&IP is based in Wilmington, Del.
