Folding carton converter Oracle Packaging, Tulsa, Ok., buys R.J. Reynolds Packaging, LLC, Winston-Salem, N.C. Terms weren't disclosed. "This acquisition allows us to add a new facet," says J. Scott Dickman, ceo of Oracle. "The RJR plant adds the element of flexible packaging, an area of opportunity that is expanding each year." The plant has customers that include many Fortune 500 consumer goods and healthcare companies.
Oracle's other plants are manufacturers of folding cartons, mainly in the butter, cream cheese, flesh bakery, and beverage markets. This addition adds approximately 650 employees to Oracle's 350 employees. Oracle's other plants are in Ohio, Illinois, North Carolina, and Georgia.
