Tom Haire, 83, founder of The Haire Group, Merrillville, Ind., passed away on August 13. He died near his home in Fort Myers, Fla., where he was enjoying his retirement. He graduated from Lehigh University with a mechanical engineering degree and served as a plant engineer and general manager for numerous companies in the corrugated container industry, including Container Corp. of America (now part of Smurfit-Stone Container Corp.) and Corco (now Weyerhaeuser). He started The Haire Group in 1976.
"To sum it up simply, Tom was truly my mentor," says Doug Muller, president of The Haire Group. "He always set a great example for all of those around him. He had a professional way of treating people and was willing to share knowledge with those around him."...
