Weyco's Rogel sets priorities.(IMPROVE SAFETY, FINANCIAL PERFORMANCE)

Weyerhaeuser Co. Chief Executive Steve Rogel says the board of directors has delivered a message to him and company employees: Improve the safety record and financial performance. In an interview published in the employee publication, Weyerhaeuser Today, Rogel says the board is concerned about injury and fatality rates at company facilities, as well as the return to shareholders.
Weyerhaeuser Spokesman Bruce Amundson told the Seattle Post Intelligencer that the concerns stemmed from a regular discussion of the state of the company at a December board meeting, rather than any special review or meeting.
