UCB receives financing.(EXPANSION PLANS)

Used Cardboard Boxes (UCB), Santa Monica, Calif, an environmentally friendly provider of old corrugated boxes, has raised seed financing from several individual investors. Now positioned for a nationwide build-out of its sustainable business model, the investment came after having spent the last nine months hi an acceleration program with venture capital firm Funk Ventures.
The Environmental Protection Agency reports the commercial sector generates more corrugated boxes than any other single material in the U.S. UCB rescues quality used boxes from businesses that would otherwise discard them. It then certifies, brands, and resells the very same boxes to the 43 million Americans who move each year, as well as hundreds of thousands of small businesses...
