CHH closes former IP plant.(FRAMINGHAM, MASS.)

According to the Worcester (Mass.) Business Journal, Evergreen Packaging will close its Framingham, Mass., gable-top beverage converting plant plant by the end of July. The plant, operated by New Zealand based Carter Holt Harvey, a subsidiary of the Rank Group, employs about 90 people.
A spokesman told the Business Journal that efforts are being made to relocate many employees. The plant was formerly owned by International Paper, which sold it to Carter Holt Harvey Feb. 1 for $413 million.
