ISO update.
Quality In Manufacturing, September, 2000
As the year 2000 winds down, the ISO 9000 revisions move closer to completion. The final International Standards--ISO 9000: 2000, ISO 9001:2000, and ISO 9004: 2000--are scheduled for publication in the last quarter of this year.
Work on the revisions began at the end of 1997. Over the subsequent years, TC 176 released Committee Draft No. 1 (CD1), and the second committee draft (CD2).
In September 1999, TC 176 met in San Francisco, CA, to review comments on CD2 and adopt the Draft International Standard (DIS) for the ISO 9000:2000 family.
The DIS was translated and circulated for ballot at the end of last year. DIS standards (ISO 9000, 9001, and 9004) are available from AQA Press.
