In 1994, I had the sweetest library school internship ever. My job was to introduce art librarians at the Getty Center to the World Wide Web. At first, I faced opposition. Why should art librarians have to learn about the Internet? They remained obstinate until one day, when one of them stumbled across the Web site of the museums at the Vatican [http://mv.vatican.va/3_EN/pages/MV_Home.html].

That hooked them! Soon no one could stop these librarians from clicking on links to paintings by Raphael and Carravaggio. They would wait for 5 minutes at a rime for the high-resolution ...
