Three companies--Sky Computers (Chelmsford, MA, www.skycomputers.com), Interactive Circuits and Systems Ltd. (ICS, Gloucester, Ont., Canada), and SensorCom Inc. (Annapolis, MD)--are collaborating to develop systems for software-defined radio (SDR) applications in military and commercial markets.
ICS is providing AID, D/A, and RF capabilities. Sky contributes advanced signal processing, and SensorCom adds applications software and testing. The systems, available in Q2 2003, will be marketed by both SensorCom and Sky. They promise unprecedented performance by combining open systems architecture featuring Linux and InfiniBand, the latest Altivec processors, and multichannel data acquisition.
