Nimbus CD International, Charlottesville, VA, inked a five-year deal with Digital Video Express (DVE) in April to replicate discs for DVE's controversial new "pay-peruse" Divx format (TDB, February, 1998). Few details of the agreement were disclosed, other than that Nimbus CD and DVE estimated that more than 150 million units could be produced by Nimbus CD over the five-year contract. The deal is non-exclusive - DVE has said it would initially have two licensed replicators for its two-market (San Francisco, CA and Richmond, VA) launch late last month.
