Recordable/rewritable DVD formats moving slowly but surely ahead.
The four DVD recordable/rewritable formats DVD-R, DVD-RAM, DVD-RW and Video Recording - continue to move forward with increased capacities.
The recordable/rewritable formats supported by the DVD Forum are moving slowly but surely ahead, according to updates on each of the formats - DVD-R, DVD-RAM, DVD-RW and Video Recording - at last month's U.S. DVD Forum Conference in Palm Springs, CA. Each are a work in progress. The DVD-R Version 1.0 specification, for example, was completed in July 1997, but a higher capacity Version 2.0 specification is now in the works.
