Selected results from a recent Consumer Electronics Association survey of U.S. consumers include:
* MP3 awareness among adults is less than 20%
* DVD awareness has grown to 61% in 1999, from 41% in 1998
* 92% of U.S. households own at least 1 VCR; about 50% own 2 ore more
* Top 2 DVD-Video player sales drivers: 1) enhanced picture and sound quality; 2) convenience
* 43% considered the eventual ability to record to a DVD-Video player as important
* 28% of consumers copied CD material onto an audio cassette in the past 12 months
* About 33% of consumers use their VCR to record at least once a month
