DVD Forum To Deliver First Calibration Discs.(digital video disks, quality control)(Brief Article)

As first reported in TapeDisc Business (TDB, February '01), the DVD Forum is expected to begin delivering DVD-5 calibration discs this month. The calibration discs are available for those Class A verification labs, evaluation system manufacturers and replicators that are DVD Format and Logo Licensees. The discs will ensure disc quality control and compatibility among DVD products by assuring conformity of industry standards.

The first calibration disc to be offered was developed by Philips and Warner Advanced Media Operations (WAMO) in close cooperation with the DVD Forum's Verification Policy Committee and the DVD Format/Logo License Corporation. It is a Single Layer Signal Disc for read-only DVD discs (Video, ROM and Audio).
