DISC, a Milpitas, CA-based storage solutions provider has announced that it plans to integrate Sony Corporation's forthcoming Ultra Density Optical (UDO) format within its enterprise storage libraries, with product availability slated for the second half of next year. DISC's initial 40 GB per cartridge capacity for the technology, achieved through the use of violet laser and advanced optics, will be available in both rewritable and WROM (write once, read many) formats.
