Microsoft acquires Navision. (Digital Asset Management).(Denmark)(Brief Article)

Denmark-based Navision a/s, manufacturers of popular supply chain management software, Axapta, has been acquired by Microsoft in a stock and cash purchase of approximately $1.3 billion (U.S.). Navision will become a part of the; Microsoft Great Plains Business Solutions Division, led by senior vice president Doug Burgum.

The current Navision headquarters will become the center of operations and product development for Microsoft Business Solutions in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). When asked about support for existing product lines, specifically supply chain software, Navision director of corporate communications Soren Moller Christensen said, "The support, training and enhancement of functionality will continue."
