Da Vinci syrups hit grocery shelves. (Trade News).

Seattle-based Da Vinci Gourmet, Ltd. is placing its flavored syrups on foodstore shelves and thus making their way into consumers' kitchens.

As the company moves forward, it is seeking placements near the flavored instant coffees, non-whole bean coffees and sweeteners in an effort to carve out a category within a category. Already in 2,600 stores including Wal-Mart, Albertson's in Southern California, Seattle area Quality Food Centers (QFC) and Ralph's in Southern California have begun selling flavored syrups in the 375-ml size bottles. "The demand for Seattle-style coffee is spreading across the U.S. and we've found that our products are being used to create the coffeehouse experience at home," Shaddle said.
