Private label, whether for coffee or tea, is an industry sector that is continuing to evolve and mature. The new paths which have been charted by the largest grocery, discount and membership stores are becoming major thoroughfares of commerce with hundreds and hundreds of products now being sold as store brands. These brands, once viewed as shoddy knock-off's catering to the poorest and least discerning members society are now often seen as the value-oriented and knowledgeable choice among the continent's most affluent shoppers. Tim Castle and Sheryl Rothmuller speak with a few private label tea and coffee packers in the US.
