Booking a vacation package to Universal Orlando this year will be a lot easier--and a lot more fun. Universal Studios Vacations has introduced customizable packages, in which clients can choose from a myriad of options to add to the basic hotel-room-and-park-ticket starting point. What's more, for the first time, agents can book Universal packages through the GDS.

"We're looking to gain marketshare from agents and make it easier for them to book us," says Bryan Shilling, vice president and general manager of Universal Studios Vacations.

Universal launched the capability in all GDS systems on Nov.30 with the booking code UNI. Agents who can't access the GDS have an electronic option, as well; Universal Studios Vacations can be booked through Vacation...
