In Las Vegas, it seems the more things change, the more they stay the same. As one of the world's most popular destinations, the glitter capital is a sure thing for generating agency revenue. Even Sept. 11 put a damper on business for only a few weeks. Now things are back to normal, according to agents who regularly sell Vegas. "Room rates are up, it's as difficult as ever to find last-minute accommodations and client demand is high," says Alex Paul, account manager for Los Angeles-based Corniche Travel.

Susie Hagmueller, senior agent leisure division for Montrose Travel, California's largest singly owned, single-location travel agency, agrees. "Weekends are sold out, and midweek is often as busy as weekends," she says.
